For Spring Break we went to central Utah and camped. We got to Palisades and their campground was closed, so we drove around a bit and found this gem of a campspot. It was right by a reservoir, and was a little hidden from everything. We ate goods like tinfoil dinners, potatoes and eggs, sandwiches and brats, with many confectionary delights in between. Eric was not faking it in this picture; he was a good eater all through the trip!
This is a view from the camp to the dam. Way exciting, I know.
Another exciting photo of us packing up. The reason for the non-eventful photos, was I waited to take pictures until we were leaving. Brilliant.
And because I am not done typing yet, and I have not yet thought of any other activity, I decided to add these next couple of pictures. They are of our basement house, in case anyone wants to see where we live. There are only two. I don't remember when I took them, but here they are. The bedroom at this point is not picture worthy. So, the kitchen and the living room are as follows. Well, they are all one room really.
The TV normally sits on that little table, but apparently it was movie night in the bedroom at the time of the photo. Or more likely the night or two previous.
Ah, and this gem was taken by Eric. This is a 31 times daily position for me. Our basement is more often cold than not, and we don't control the heat. Luckily, this space heater came with the house, and I can often be found sitting (in horrible posture, evidently) as close as I can get without catching fire.
In other news, our stake conference was today, and it was fantastic. As was last night's adult session. I think Elder Cook is great. As he is newer to the apostleship, I hadn't quite known him very well (not that I am an expert now) but I appreciate him more. He has a great laugh. He is funny and smart and a great speaker, and left us with a wonderful blessing. His wife is a delight. In her talk that emphasized teaching through music, she was rehearsing a primary song, and partway through started singing it. The room grew very quiet as the small children recognized what she was singing. It was so great. Her voice is beautiful. Elder Cook brought along a member of the seventy as his companion, and he did wonderfully as well. As did all members of our new stake presidency. I hadn't heard two of them speak before, but I loved their messages and their presentation.
And now, we have another month of school coming up. Way fun!
