There is no rest for even the tiniest person in our house these days. She can be found helping out with everything. She has lots of enthusiasm for being wherever Mom is and doing whatever she can to help out. What a dream of a daughter!
A favorite activity is unloading the dishwasher. First, Lucy will taste all items to test for food residue, and once found clean, she will drop each item onto the floor at her feet. Once, Mom wasn't paying attention and had left the dishwasher open. Unfortunately, Lucy did this same routine with a large knife. Regrettably, she missed the floor and dropped the knife on her toe. Minimal damage was done to the toe, but it made Mom's heart hurt.
Now, Mom always lets Lucy know that she appreciates the helpful attitude, and then introduces her to a different activity and closes the dishwasher.
Lucy also gets fed up with the flies that swarm around her head, and crawl up her yummy little legs. When this happens, she goes right for the fly swatter. But then she gets distracted and decides to remind herself how that delicious swatter tastes. Mom takes Lucy's face for it that it's not that tasty after all.
Sometimes, Mom gets so overwhelmed with Lucy's desire to be in the action, that she reminds Lucy that she has her own kitchen. It was discovered that Lucy doesn't like stuff getting in her oven. So, Mom will stuff her oven and shut the door, and Lucy will be busy for 49 seconds before she is racing back to Mom's kitchen to help!
She really is a joy. We love her so much!
Fun to catch up on what is going on with you guys! Lucy is growing right up! We missed you at the reunion!
