Eric and I have been loving life. We are so happy when it is a nice day, and I try to be upbeat when the clouds and precipitation come (Eric is good and doesn't let the weather get him down). Anyway, it has been a beautiful week for weather.
April Fool's passed without incident; instead, we celebrated like this: "Happy April Fool's day Eric!" "Happy April Fool's day Betsy!" Hugs and smiles. It was good. I am not a fan of trickery.
Then we enjoyed General Conference of course. It was just good, as it always is, but better too. And from what I hear, every one who watched or heard it thought the same. We Croppers are so grateful to be blessed with such leadership for the church and individual.
April 8th was a glorious day, as Eric presented and defended his thesis!!! I got to watch the presentation and was so impressed with his performance.
Afterward, his committee asked questions and he reportedly did well there, too, although I was not able to see firsthand. Now all he has left is to revise his ~130 page thesis and condense it into an article for publishing! And find a job too.
This weekend we did some shopping, some cleaning, some yard work, some barbequeing and some lounging. It was most enjoyable with a lot of out-of-the-houseness (due to the aforementioned nice weather). However, there was an activity worth mentioning that took place indoors. Eric and I participated with friends in a Relay for Life. It was real fun; food and drink and snack were provided to our hearts' content and our stomachs' discomfort (I tasted an Xzude for the first time). We walked for four miles each and received way awesome t-shirts for our efforts. And then we revisited scenes from our younger days and stayed up until 12:30 AM with said friends playing The Game of LIFE. It was pretty exciting and tiring all at the same time. We were born, went to college, got married, had babies, and retired all in just a few hours. After such a full day, you might imagine that we slept well on Friday night. We did.
And so far, this week has been pretty uneventful. Except maybe for some exceptional Institute class sessions.
Oh, I almost forgot. This week hasn't been uneventful at all! I have started exercising in the mornings! My dear friend Sara decided to motivate me by saying during the Relay for Life, "I will exercise with you." That is the best motivation. Then she went so far as to say that mornings work the best for her. I nearly turned her down, but I made the right choice. Now, I get up at a timely hour, sweat a bit and have breakfast ready when Eric gets up! I have been feeling really good (save more tiredness during the day--something that may be remedied by another right choice: going to bed a little earlier), plus, I get to see Sara every day!
Another event: On Sunday, Sara turned 20. Just thought I would mention it. She's a youngy but a goodie! (We were invited to her dutch oven birthday feast, so that was fun.)
Now, we just have a couple and a half weeks left of school. Well, I do at least. I am so looking forward to being done with the semester. And, an announcement: I am going to graduate in August! Yay. I signed up for four classes online for summer that will fulfill all outstanding requirements. Happy day. Or month. Whichever.
