It began with a visit to the zoo in Logan. Lucy loved the monkeys. They were the same kind as Dexter in Night at the Museum--capuchins. As they moved up and down the cage and jumped from limb to limb, she bounced up and down and squealed. She also liked the emus and the ducks.
The party then moved to Grandma and Grandpa's house where everyone visited until dinner. They served us a savory garden-fresh dinner--a winning combination of red potatoes, squash, beans, tomatoes and corn. Betsy claimed the dinner was more delicious than the dessert.
After dinner, Betsy, Eric and Lucy left to meet up with Jeff and Brianne (Eric's old roommate and Betsy's cousin, who happen to be dating) for a date. Lucy felt very lucky to accompany Mom and Dad on her date and remained on her best behavior all night. The date consisted of ladderball at the Feuz's (Brianne's parents and Betsy's aunt and uncle), and Betsy and Eric enjoyed good conversation with family they don't see much. Lucy revealed an outgoing attitude. She willingly went from person to person, giving smiles and hugs to everyone.
After we had played ladderball, we returned to Jeff's house and ate pizzookies, a big, hot chocolate chip cookie with ice cream served on top. Betsy shared with Lucy and everyone wished there was more by the end. The date ended with a game of chicken foot and Lucy got to bed two hours past her normal curfew. How did she manage to wake up at her normal time the next morning?
She was up at 7 AM just in time to pick some apricots from the grandparents' tree. Betsy felt like a character on Anne of Green Gables, climbing the ladder with a bucket. When back on the ground, Lucy thought she was so helpful, grabbing from Mom's stash, taking a bite, dropping and repeating. Betsy didn't appreciate it and ended up abandoning Lucy in a remote area of the lawn where she was entertained by other things.
On Saturday, Eric helped Marisa move boxes into her new place, and Betsy entertained Lucy. For lunch, we met Jon and Dani Call at the Olive Garden. This was definitely Betsy's choice of restaurant. Betsy enjoyed the never-ending soup, Chicken Gnocchi and Eric got the never-ending pasta bowl. Lucy indulged in never-ending breadsticks.
After lunch Betsy and Eric parted with Lucy so they could visit the temple. The temple was wonderful as always. How could it not be? The only regret was that the attendees had stayed up too late, and struggled to stay awake after such a large meal.
Betsy, Eric and Lucy departed that same evening. And they want to go back.
I support a return visit! Also, my apartment makes me feel fancy.... Also... I own some phizookie pans.... We could put them to use
