We went to the Eric's parents' house for the Christmas holiday. We arrived on Christmas Eve, and were able to participate in the nativity. Lucy was assigned the role of an angel, but was not fond of the costume. She would rather have been Jesus, resting happily on the plush blanket that was the manger. This made sense and was really just convenient as Betsy was Mary and Eric was Joseph. We don't know why that wasn't her job in the first place.
We had a fun time the next morning. Lucy got better at unwrapping each present as they came her way. She unwrapped this bear almost by herself.
She enjoyed reading her new book "Lucy's ABC Book."
She took Simba and showed him a thing or two on the piano.
And she wondered time after time, "Mom, why are you still taking pictures?"
But, by golly, Betsy stuck with it. This is Lucy on Christmas around noon. Just before church at 1 PM. What a doll.
We got to go to the bowling alley and celebrate a nephew's birthday. While others bowled, Betsy kept Lucy out of the lanes with Tangled on an ipad. We had a yummy pasta lunch at the Pizza Factory, where Lucy had her first goldfish cracker ever. She would be an addict if we let her. Lexi and Lucy had a good time in the car.
Lucy loved being among all the kids. They didn't appreciate her grabby fingers on their new dolls quite as much. But, all three little girls sat together long enough to enjoy a story.
We had a very merry Christmas, and we were so glad to be able to visit with our family!
