We enjoyed a 7-day vacation to Logan last week. Eric was attending a conference for work. It was a week of classes that culminated with a test on Friday. While Eric was away, Lucy and I spent our mornings and afternoons having a grand time at the hotel on campus and with family.
We arrived on Sunday evening so Eric could check in to the program and eat a welcome dinner. Lucy and I stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Humpherys' house with Marisa. We worked on a puzzle and ate some dinner.
On Monday, Marisa met us at the hotel when she was done with classes. We watched an episode of Sherlock. It was good enough that I enjoyed it and it put Lucy to sleep. My kind of show!
We had to wake Lucy up to go to lunch with Eric. He had been given a prepaid card to use at the food court on campus, and it was enough for me and Lucy to join him for each lunch. Every single day, Eric had a burger and fries, I had a hoagie (with alfalfa sprouts and banana peppers!) and Lucy had fries.
Since Eric was fed every meal every day, we joined Marisa and the Grandparents for dinner on Monday. Grandma made shrimp scampi and I nearly died of delight. It was delicious.
The next day was similar, only I made dinner at Grandma's. Marisa helped me make sweet and sour meatballs. Luckily, that was the only cooking I did all week! (Maybe my favorite thing about the vacation).
Eric met us at the Grandparents' house after dinner. Shortly afterward, Lucy overflowed her britches. Unfortunately, she was wearing a onesie and all her clothes were soiled at once. We had no extra clothes, so she went in a jacket and socks to Dani and Jon's house--our next destination.

I had found by Wednesday that we had plenty of time in the morning to get ready for the day, so I spent half an hour and did my hair up all fancy with gel and hairspray (the thing I do when I have too much time), then decided to fancy Lucy's up too. She sat happily in the sink playing with the extra clips. She makes a cute curly haired kiddo.
And then she watched cartoons. She enjoyed watching Thomas and Friends, Mickey and Friends, and this one, whatever it is.
After cartoons, we went to ride the buses. Lu loved riding the campus shuttles around. We got to know a couple of routes pretty well. Lucy was very friendly with people sitting next to her. She often tapped their arms and offered a smile or played peek-a-boo with the riders across from her. It seemed that everywhere we went on campus, people were continually commenting on her adorableness or beauty. Several people asked how old she is or what her name is and then responded with "Ooooohhhhh! She's so cute!" It could have been a great week for her self-esteem had she been in need of a lift.
We were at the Grandparents' house the next day again and Lucy ate an apple. She isn't usually an apple lover, but they had some shriveled apples that were easy for Lucy to chomp on. And chomp she did. This was her second apple of the week.
This night we went to see Jeff and Brianne and watched a Jazz game with them. Lucy loved the brownie Jeff gave her and the attention from everyone.

On Thursday, I was invited to eat dinner with Eric. The University catered to the group and we enjoyed prime rib and MORE shrimp! Plus, seasoned potatoes, veggies, cheeses and salad. It was delicious, and fun for me to meet some of Eric's work-mates.
One of Lucy's favorite things was the elevator. She got such a kick out of pushing the buttons to open the elevator and pushing the button for which floor we wanted. It was hilarious. We rode several times just for fun. After she pushed the floor button and the elevator started moving, this was her face.

As Eric's conference ended on Friday, we checked out that day at noon, and went to get more food and Aggie ice cream to use up the last of Eric's food card. We also got some yummy squeaky cheese curds to enjoy. And then we went to the temple while Marisa watched Lucy have a nap.
We stayed Friday night at the Grandparents' house. We played lively card games with Eric's aunts and got to bed TOO LATE! The next morning Lucy had fun pulling...
and pushing the little red wagon around the living room.
We left for home soon after. On the way, we stopped for lunch at Panda Express. Again, I had a taste of some sort of wonderful shrimp, but got an order of orange chicken. Lucy loved the paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling (I'm sure she was reminded of Tangled).
It was a wonderful time full of fun, relaxation, shrimp, and a week nearly void of menu planning and cooking.
