We recently took a vacation. We up and left for a week and a half to attend several camping trips in Wyoming! We made it through in good spirits but were so grateful to arrive home on Saturday. We love our home.
Our first destination was Boulder Lake to meet up with my family. Several of my siblings, my parents and my Anderson grandparents were there. On the way, we kept asking Lucy if she was excited to see Porter (a 3-year old cousin) and she would say, "yeah, fun!" We would also ask her if she wanted to see Shaylie (a nearly 4 month old cousin) and she would say, "yeah, tiss!" And she did bestow plenty of kisses!
Lucy's excitement to see the fam showed as we stopped in Big Piney to get gasoline.
Smoke from the Fontanel fire created this lovely mushroom cloud.
Big Piney smelled like a giant barbecue as we drove through.
"Yeah, fun!" in actuality.
Lucy pumping her legs to catch up.
My dad gave the kiddos rides on the bike. They ALL loved it!
Lucy suggests that it IS a good idea for the girls to continue up the road unmonitored. Why not, anyway?
Lucy loves anything Grandpa does. For the fifteenth time, she watches the rock drop into the water.
And squeals when the water splashes her face.
Several folks enjoyed the cold lake water--whether they came prepared or not!
Lucy seeks me out to dump the sand out of her jellies.
Grandpa and Dad competed for tastiest fish recognition. One was deep fried and the other was cooked in tinfoil.
I taste the fish. "Ooooooooo, yummy!" (The result was a tie.)
I take a poor picture of Eric's awesome 4-pound fish. I'm not sure why I thought I should have Eric's full body in the picture, when the picture was supposed to show off the fish.
Luckily, for people like me there are photo editing sites available. Here is a close-up of the impressive aquatic vertebrate!
More fun occurs when Lucy and Porter share a snack in an interesting stance.
"Oops, too low! Please help!"
At Blueberry Lake, Sylvie hops in to catch a nice fish and winds up with a leech between her toes as well.
Jake won't be left out!
Lucy and I wait for Eric to finish fishing.
Jake performs an experiment to find whether fear of snakes is nature or nurture. We settled on nature.
Lucy has a snooze on the way down the mountain.
The kids get a ride on the way to church in Pinedale.
The party dissipated after lunch and we started for Yellowstone on Monday morning.
Looks like so much fun! I love the pictures of Lucy one her way to the splits! So cute! :)
