Pass Lake Adventure

Eric had five days off in a row and on the last day, we decided to do something special.
We invited my family to Mirror Lake for a hike--and they came!  We gave them half an hour notice and they drove the 2 hours to come hang out.  While we waited for them, Eric fished in Pass Lake and Lucy threw rocks into the water.

Eric caught a few fish and each time Lucy was thrilled.  Not enough to touch it, but enough to clap enthusiastically and then say, "Bye fish!" when they swam away.

Just look at that poor fish, frantically gasping for water.

Sylvie reeled in a fish once they arrived, then we all got set to hike up to Kamas Lake.  It was a good hike as the air was mostly cool and it wasn't too steep.  Once we arrived, Lucy wanted to get in the water with Sylvie, so I removed her shoes and pants.  She had a mostly good time there, despite the jagged rocks everywhere.

I am sorry to report that after three days of no accidents, Lucy had two in a row just minutes after these pictures.  She got a nice cold rinse in the lake and luckily we are back on track now that we are home.
Go Lucy!

The walk down, by a different trail was not so friendly as the first.  It was very steep both up and down for at least seven-eighths of the way to the car.  It was not kind to my belly, but we made it slowly down.

We were all pretty tired after the long walk, but Lucy was the only one that got in a snooze.  It didn't look real comfy, but she perked right up at the end, and was happily chatting and running around when we got back to the trail head.

What a great day!
