Sam is nearly 9 months old and it's finally done!
I always think how decorating a room is solely for the mother's enjoyment, but I have found that such is not the case with this room. I was pleased to find that Sam actually likes his room! When we are rockin' out in the green chair he gets excited about the animals on the wall, and he loves to see them from his bed too. He also likes to stand while gripping the slats on his crib. Not that that has anything to do with the decor. :)
The cutest bedding in the world was given to me by my dear Aunt Courtney. It was the first item in the room and inspired all the other additions.
The frame was made for me by my brother-in-law Ryan Mayo who gave it as a Christmas gift. I stained and sealed it for Sam's room. We got the S at a yard sale for 50 cents then matched it to the A and M at Hobby Lobby. I mod podged some of my scrap booking paper on those.
The vinyl animals are courtesy of the well-loved retail giant Wal-Mart.
I created the animal blocks by printing animal clipart from Google images then tracing and cutting out each piece in the cute scrap book paper I wanted to use. I glued them all together and mod podged them onto boards that I had stained.
Just a quick note: The crib is still on the highest level since Sam has no motivation to move! It's good on my back. Also, after naps and even sometimes after a long night's rest, Sam is content to lie in his bed chatting up a storm and cooing until I come get him. Sometimes this lasts for half an hour.
I do believe he loves his room! :)
