Stansbury Days...Parade!

The other event we attended was the parade.  We walked over to the clubhouse and sat right at the end.  It was quite fun.  Lucy clapped along with everyone when the first people came into view.

Her first candy came from a fireman who took pity on her shyness.  He walked over to her.  Lucy didn't know parades include candy (I didn't want to get her hopes up) so she was pretty thrilled.

Sadly, she later found that she doesn't actually like saltwater taffy.  "They are gooey!"

But when she finally found the gumption to go after some herself, she found some smarties.  So she enjoyed some sugar.

Another guy gave Lucy a shower of candy.  Literally right on her head.  Taffy is a popular parade treat. :)

Lucy spotted a friend from the ward and chose her over me of course.  Cali is a Lucy magnet.  She makes the girl feel special.

And once again, here is Sam at the end of a Lucy packed post.  She just takes more exciting pictures I guess. :)  He was there though.  Quiet, happy and content to sit the whole time.  He didn't get any sugar, but he did eat some dead grass and dirt.

Then we went home with the intention to return for fireworks at dark.  That didn't pan out.  Lucy was excited all day until it was time to go, remembering that they would be "so LOUD!"  And I remembered her sensitive ears (and Sam's) and we watched from Lucy's bathroom upstairs.  They were still plenty loud.  She plugged her ears while I coerced her into the bathroom.  She watched a couple then said she was ready for bed.
