Eric's much anticipated elk hunt has come and gone!
He had a great time, and in the end, he enjoyed success!
His area in the Southwest Desert. I thought it quite pretty.
His elk died hugging a tree. Awkward. Apparently it was quite the deal to untangle him.
Nice elk!
Dad made it home the evening of the sixth day. We were so happy to see him again!
One last goodbye before we dropped the head off at the taxidermist.
He will be welcomed back home in 3 more weeks! And he will claim his very own spot on the wall. We can't wait!
I moved that we give him a name as he will be a permanent member of our household.
Lucy suggested Abra Cadabra but said we would call him Abe for short. No surprise there. :)
Abra Cadabra's antlers scored 340. He is out of luck impressing any more cows with those massive front tines and sword points, but he will be admired from our hallway every day for possibly the rest of our lives. Eric is happy and wishes to send thanks to all who made this hunt possible and successful!
