Eric was scouting for his upcoming elk hunt so the children and I journeyed to Lonetree for the weekend.
What a blast!
Ice cream flowed from the machine like it was the Upper Falls of Yellowstone!
Until Sunday. I was so excited to have ice cream after fasting, but it was not to be.
Lucy spent a lot of time riding her "new horse." The horse's name changed every time she got on. It was Abe, Jet Black, Flicka and Freckles all in one weekend.
And or course, Lucy and Sam both loved their time on the real horses.
Porter turned five the day we arrived, and he had a party at the clay hills on Saturday when everyone was able to attend. The kids had a fun time climbing and sliding. It was a very hot day though, and we had to pack up before the kids were ready.
Home of my youth.
To cool down, Grandpa brought the fire truck home. The kids had a fun time running back and forth through the stream of water.
Sam was quite social all weekend long. Yay Sam!
Rosie, Allie and Lucy played Kinex and built all sorts of contraptions.
Clark and Maria's family and Ryan and Porter were all gone on Monday, so Lucy and Allie spent the morning together.
The hair buddies. Post-offense.
This picture reminds me of one of me and Steph in this very yard taken 20 years ago or so. Allie's hair. You know the one I'm talkin' bout, Steph?!
Feeding the fish.
What a fun weekend! Our minds were successfully taken from dwelling on Dad's absence. And as in all cases when I wrap up a post about a weekend with the fam, I have to say, that the company was great and the food was too. Why do I always think of the food? I am a foodie. And it's a real word--I looked it up just now. I'm a foodie. I really enjoy food.
So there you go. Great weekend. Great food. Great peeps.
