25 Days

We are doing the 25 Days of Christ--a brilliant idea that is floating around pinterest.com.  The idea is that you make an ornament for each of the 25 days leading up to Christmas.  These have some significance to Christ's life and you open one "gift" per night and learn a story from Jesus' life.  I am loving the idea, and Lucy is loving the ornaments.  She does remember some of the stories too.

Some of the ornaments we have are the star for His birth, a ship for stilling the storm, a sheep for the lost sheep, a sick man for the Good Samaritan, and a man in a stretcher for "take up thy bed."  Lu loves the little wooden men best.  They talk to each other, offering assurances and comfort.  "It's okay, you will walk soon."

Sam loves to take off the ornaments and leave them strewn across the floor which elicits many complaints from Lucy.

I am so happy to have found another worthy tradition for our Christmas season that my children will enjoy.
