We had a fun-filled Christmas week. We left for Lyman on Christmas Eve and attended Grandma Lynne's party at her church building. We had a great lunch and then played games. Family Feud was entertaining and the basketball games were very popular. Holly dressed the kids up and had a nativity activity. Lucy was a cow.
Next, we went to Grandma Mary's house and enjoyed some very cold caroling. We went on a lighted trailer pulled behind Jared's truck. We stopped at four or five houses and sang our hearts out. We had a very good time. Lucy had fun shaking her cymbals. Sam was exhausted, hungry and sad the whole time.
But when we got back to the house, we ate some dinner and he perked right up.
The kids produced a nativity for the adults. Lucy was a sheep.
We slept at the pink house and woke to find that Santa had come!
I made a felt car mat for the kids. It is already falling apart, unfortunately and will likely require constant repair. Eric made Lucy a cute little fishing pole that catches magnetic fish. She loves it.
These kids love the deer, the dog and the outdoors. One afternoon I took Sam in a sled and pulled him around on the partially snow-covered golf course. Flag was following us and Sam periodically got out to pet him then got back in the sled.
I got to go to Frozen on Thursday with Maria, Mom, Sylvie and Eli. And LOVED it of course. I came back home with a renewed desire to see Wicked again. Lucy made friends with Cordell and chatted way too much. We FINALLY got to exchange sibling gifts that night too. We went to Grandma Mary's Christmas party on Friday and had a good time visiting, dancing and in Eric's case, napping. We left after the program and got home at 11:30.
The next morning we went to Grandma Cropper's house and had a great time visiting with the Jensens. We got to open some very fun presents, talked Frozen and ate chocolate covered blueberries. We stayed over and went to church with them, then left Sunday evening.
Sam had croup through Sunday night, a scary and exhausting thing that I hope never happens again. Eric took Monday off and we took Sam to the doc to get a steroid to stop the swelling in his throat. He didn't have any more rough nights, but we have had rough days with both Lucy and Sam coughing excessively.
So went our Christmas week.
And this girl goes to Sunbeams on Sunday! We gave her a Book of Mormon for Christmas to get her in the habit of bringing scriptures to church. I am way too excited for her to be a Sunbeam. :)
I love how the car mat turned out! Mate if you stitch around it, it will stay together
