We had a four day weekend for Civil Rights Day so we up and went to Meridian. Thayne and Nanette were so kind to receive us. We called them just a couple of hours before leaving our house. Luckily they had a free weekend too. I enjoy seeing new sights and going new places and the drive was great. The kids didn't need to stop all the way to and from!

We got to Meridian on Friday at 6 PM and after dinner the girls played really happily together for hours. You'd think Lucy's heart was breaking when she had to go to bed at 9:30. |
Saturday morning, I woke up to find that Sam had vomited sometime during the night. He seemed happy though, and acted normal throughout the day, so we made an outing to Kohl's as well as a trip to Settler's Park. The kids adored the park! They did not want to leave. Sam of course can swing for hours, and Lucy ran from one thing to the next. It was a huge park with something for every age. We coaxed them into the car with the promise of hot chocolate at the house.
We watched The Croods after hot chocolate and Eric, Nanette and I watched Warm Bodies after the kids went to bed. The Croods was great! I do not love Warm Bodies.
Saturday night was a bummer. Literally. Sam had two incidences of extreme diarrhea. Poor child. I had to wash his blankets and pajamas both times. I was so worried about the smell. I knew there wasn't anything on the carpet, but the stench was certainly not dissipating. And it was about the worst smell I had ever smelt. (Happily, the air in our room was much improved by Sunday afternoon, and smelled normal by the time we left :))
Sunday was Stake Conference. Sam's troubles continued throughout the day, but finally stopped at the 24-hour mark, which eased my mind and all fears of an Instacare visit ceased. (I made Eric look it up, since I was worried about dehydration.) The adults and Lexi played Rummy that evening. And everything was right in my little world until Lucy threw up in Thayne and Nanette's bedroom. That was followed by a few more episodes, which, thankfully, stopped at midnight. But much to our dismay, we learned that Chloe, Ethan and Thayne had all caught the bug and suffered through the night. Chloe had seemed to recover by the time we left on Monday, but I felt so bad!
We loved visiting with them and seeing their beautiful home. Lexi played the piano for me on a couple different occasions and I was amazed at her talents and perseverance.
I don't know why we didn't go visit them sooner, because besides making them sick and causing 6 unanticipated loads of laundry it was great!
Looks fun, but I'm so glad I did not join ;)
ReplyDeleteSick kiddos is no fun! Glad it was a quick bug at least.
