May

It is time for an update!  Many days have passed and many pictures have been taken.  This is what we have been up to...

Lucy and Sam have a lot of fun playing together.  They tackle each other, race from the pantry to the living room and they love to watch TV together.  Lucy will only play in the basement if Sam comes along.  She can count to 50, knows the alphabet and is beginning to sound out small words.  Sam's favorite things are all things with wheels.  We have really stocked up on the hot wheels at the various yard sales this year.  He also has started pretending with the toy barn and farm animals and that keeps him busy for a while.  And, he is potty trained!  He is down to only a couple of accidents per week, and I call that good.  :)

We love to visit my parents in Lonetree.  The other day, Lucy said, "Mom, do you know why I love Grandpa?"  I asked why.  She said, "Because I love to play at his house!"  She divides her time between the swing, trampoline, the loft and roaming with her cousins exploring forts.  Sylvie is wonderful to play with the nieces and nephews.  They were using the dress ups on this particular warm day in May.

Jake and Brittany got married on May 20th!  We were able to attend their reception on Memorial Day.  It was so fun to see friends and family we don't see real often.  The happy couple had a reception on the ground level of the Heritage Barn and dancing upstairs.  Mom made the cake, Steph made the little girls' dresses and I was happy to make some of the decorations.  Aunts, sisters, grandmas and Mom each brought a plate of cookies for dessert.  And of course, like any Anderson family gathering, there was soft serve ice cream.   It was a very nice reception.

Eric took pictures and watched the kids the whole time.  There is a park nearby and the kids had fun there for a bit.  We are so happy to have Brittany in the family!

For our 5th wedding anniversary, Eric and I went on an over night vacation.  Wes and Debbie were kind enough to take care of our children.  I dropped them off then drove to town to pick up Eric for dinner.  We ate at The Roof on Temple Square.  We had a wonderful seat, and had such a great time EATING!  It's something we both really enjoy!   The piano player was great.  The food was quite good, and the company was awesome.  We stayed at the Anniversary Inn that night, then stopped at Home Depot before going to collect the rest of our family.  So much fun.

We planted the garden Mother's Day weekend, and this is how it has progressed.  Eric is awesome to take care of all the watering and is the mastermind behind it all.  I plant and weed and watch it grow!  It's a bit spotty in places this year, but staggered growth is not all bad. :)

I took Lucy to Princess Day at the Benson Grist Mill.  It's a fundraiser for a dance group.  The dancers do the little princess's makeup, play games, have tea time and decorate crowns and wands.  The carriage was broken but we got to take pictures on it anyway.

While Eric is at work, it is sometimes hard for us to find things to do.  Toys get old, and sometimes housework gets old.  The other day, we decided to have a camp out in the back yard.  We packed up our mini marshmallows and chocolate chips and goldfish, our water bottles, camp chairs, tent and sleeping bags.  Sam was ready for snacks about 5 minutes in and the tent heated up real fast, but it was fun!

For Father's Day this year we all went to spend the day on Mirror Lake highway.  I packed a lunch and dinner and we went fishing at a few different lakes in between.  We stopped at Provo River Falls this time for a photo op.
We had both lunch and dinner at Beaver picnic area.  It was a lovely quiet place with a bathroom nearby.  We grilled tinfoil dinners, Eric fished in the river, and Lucy drew a picture of our surroundings.  We felt silly for not thinking to bring our tent, and got home really late.  A fun, adventurous day!
And that brings us to the present.  I had all four wisdom teeth pulled on Monday and despite having some serious anxiety about the procedure and recovery, I am feeling remarkably well only a day later! Hooray.  Eric is now in Scouts and has a day camp this coming Saturday, and then we are booked nearly every weekend for the rest of summer.  Bring on the adventuring!
