What an awesome year this is shaping up to be! I am so excited about all the adventures coming our way. Lucy and Sam are the bomb'inest kids ever--smart, independent, happy, sweet, wild and crazy, (and currently napping ;))--and I have been about as impatient as can be for May to come around so we can meet their little brother! I expect he will follow suit and be the bomb'inest little kid too. :) Of course, Eric is rockin' it at the workplace. He just passed an eight-hour test to become a certified appraiser. Just a little something to add to his resume--not a job change. He still works at the tax commission and is a tax economist for the state. I don't know how he does what he does. I am just happy he does so well in supporting us so I can enjoy my dream job!

We went to Emily and Mike's reception in Logan January 2nd. I loved seeing and visiting with and being inspired by Laurel as always! We stayed overnight with Grandma and Grandpa Humpherys and drove around town with Marisa the next day. Marisa bought Lucy and Sam a few varieties of flavored milks from Gossner's (Lucy's favorite is rootbeer) and we visited with Dani and Jon over sweet pork burritos at Cafe Rio. |

On a chill sunny day, Eric took the kids to the front yard for a few minutes of snow fun. Anytime it snows (which has been twice this entire winter), Lucy says, "It's my lucky day!" |

We have started "Super Hero Sundays" where we learn a little about a Scripture hero on Sabbath mornings. It's a great way to take up time before 1:00 church, learn about the prophets and have fun doing it! The first week, we learned about Nephi (Super Power: Courage) and a couple of days later came across his name in our nightly scripture reading. Sam immediately brightened and said, "Nephi! On the boat." I was thrilled. :) The second week of SHS, we learned about King Benjamin. The kids really enjoyed building towers and SUPER loved eating them afterward! |

I thought it would be fun to take at least a monthly shot of the children throughout the year, just before church when they are looking so snazzy. :) |

Sam came down the stairs wearing Lucy's pink princess slippers and toting a bag on his arm. I think he got self-conscious when I wanted a photo and he immediately took the shoes off. |

Check out the paint spots on that little boy's face! We made some paper roll animals just for fun. Lucy chose a puppy, kitten, and pig. Sam went for an elephant, snowman and dog. Only since we couldn't make a T-Rex.
Tidbit about this super cool orange T-Rex shirt he is wearing: He wishes he could wear it every day. On the days when he doesn't try to sneak it back into his dresser, he puts it straight into the washer so it can be washed as soon as possible. I made the mistake of telling him it was all dry at about 5:00 PM yesterday. He immediately went to dig it out of the dryer and begged me to take off his green T-Rex shirt so he could wear the orange one. Then he moped around for 20 minutes when I insisted that he put the orange shirt in his dresser or at least on his bed so he could wear it the next day. When we went to put his pajamas on at bedtime, we found it on his bed. Of course it's what he is wearing today. |
Quotes of the Month:
Lucy: "I am so hungry I could eat 3 toastez all in one day! Actually 4, 5 or 6 or 9 or 7 or somethin' like that."
Sam: One morning he asked for two halves of toast. When I set them by his plate, he put his face right down next to them and said with a big grin, "Mmmmm! I love you toastez!"
(We are kinda big on toast around here.)
Cutest kids ever
