Wolf Creek Camp

Ryan and Angie set up a weekend camp trip above Woodland.  Grandma and Grandpa came and Wes's family too.  We had so much fun!  We just hung around at camp so there was lots of good cousin time.  Hammocks were a big things this time--we had eight set up!

Annie was so happy to be camping.  The day we arrived, we waited for a few hours to set up the tent and she asked over and over if we could "build the tent now?"  She took a "nap" very willingly because she just wanted to be in the tent.  On the last day, she was pretty upset and didn't want to "break" the tent.  She said she wanted to stay for 14 days.

Lucy and Sam brought their PVC bows and arrows and the cousins all had a lot of fun with them.  Dad brought his pellet gun.  The three oldest kids all shot the pellet gun and everyone was especially impressed with Lucy as she was the only person to hit the target every time.

Day 1, Angie mentioned that she had brought some puzzles for Annie to try.  I thought that they would be so nice to try out when we got home and mix in to her normal puzzle rotation.  It turns out they saved us on this trip!  That night we were playing "Four men on a couch" and Annie was bored.  After several minutes of constant whining, I remembered the puzzles and she puzzled the rest of the night.  And she puzzled most of the next day.  I think there were eight and she did them several times each.  We were so grateful for Angie and her puzzles!

There were lots of games played such as Liar's Dice, Rummy, Exploding Kittens and Sleeping Queens.  Debbie and Grandma brought crafts and the kids had a lot of fun just being together.

Sam LOVED hunting for bugs and grasshoppers.  At one point he had 10 or more in a water bottle.  Ellie was his pal and did a lot of exploring and searching with him.

Wolf Creek is a beautiful place!  On the first evening, Dad and I took Wade and Annie to see what we could see not far from camp.  There was a beautiful quaky-lined road that we walked down to get to the point where we could see Heart Lake.  We had originally thought of fishing there, but it turned out to not look promising enough.  It is in such a beautiful valley though!

We arrived home around lunch time on Sunday.  We cleaned up and had an afternoon Sacrament service at home.  We got news that Uncle Ryan (who had been sick all morning) had gone to the ER when his family had arrived home, and we were relieved to hear that he would quickly recover from a severe case of dehydration! We played Uno and Liar's Dice and Lucy trained Sam and Wade in air-bending.  It was a fun-filled weekend, and we are ready for rest and a fresh new week!
