Semester's End to Semester's Beginning

It has been a lovely break from school for the last few weeks. We had a great time with both sides of the family; we started by going to Eric's family's house. We spent the week before Christmas and Christmas morning there. We went bowling with all the kids, we played games, and watched movies. At the Anderson's, we went to the family parties, one on the 26th and one on the 27th. We enjoyed ice-skating and eating and some other stuff. Following are some photos in no particular order...

Whilst at the Anderson home, we took part in some renovation. We tore up the carpet in Mom's office and polyurethaned the floor. It is now a beautiful dark wood floor. More was done in this room, but we didn't document it.

Eric chopped wood with Jake and Monte and had a great time. Betsy called these boys in for lunch, and they kept chopping for ten more minutes! Must have been enthralling out there.
We opened our presents from each other on Christmas Eve, so it was like we had our own Christmas and it was so fun! Eric opening his memory foam pillow from Betsy.

Santa came for Betsy, but not for Eric. What was he thinking? Betsy liked what he brought. Especially the salad tongs and potato masher.

This was from Eric. We didn't end up keeping it, but it was very cool. It came with the potential for exchanging crafty blades. Alas, it didn't come with the blades, so we decided we didn't want it. We got a different one instead.

Eric gave Betsy something very special. She loves Liplicious from Bath and Body Works. Three new ones. She is VERY excited.

Eric and his new Ryobi from Betsy. As you can see, it is just what he wanted.

Here is Betsy, holding the gingerbread house that we made together whilst we were staying at the Cropper home.

We are very glad to be back to our own home now. Church today was great. We got home and had yummy Hawaiian haystacks, and then some wonderful (Steph and Ryan) visitors. We have had an excellent day.
We are now looking forward to another week of freedom from schoolwork and then to the new semester. Life for us is good.

  1. You make me smile Bets! Sounds like you had a great holiday, but I feel the same about getting home, or back to the norm. It was fun to see you!
