Birthday #22

Yesterday was the day of my birth. It was a great day. This is what happened.
I turned 22. It was wonderful that it fell on a Friday, because that is my least busy school day. I only have two classes and they are only 50 minutes each. We slept in abominably, so had to have instant oatmeal for breakfast. Eric had gotten some orange juice for me to take to class in my waterbottle. Oh my heck...YUM! He also gave me some pretend gerberas (they last longer) and a movie and camera batteries and lotsa gum and an outdoor research hat that he had won on Wednesday at the Banff Film Festival. He had to give it to me because it is eggplant color! My parents-in-law gave me a nice blue coat (which I love). I wore it all day.

My first class went great with constant sipping of OJ- -(trying to make it last, but not able to stay away.) I did some homework at campus then went home and did my hair. It had been many days since I had done anything special, and I decided to crimp it. Then, it turned out that my hair is so short it looked kind of like a... well, I can't think of a good description, but it was in such a state that it couldn't be left uncontained, so I tied it back with a ribbon. Then Eric took me to McAllister's!!!! You could say it is my favorite. It had been a year (exactly) since we had gone. It was way yum, and I regret that we didn't take the camera (of course, because it was the only part of the day when my hair was done, and of course, because we were at McAllister's which is only an annual occurance, and of course, because it was my birthday...another annual occurance). I had another class after that, and then I was homefree for the day! I was walking back to the car to go home, and met some wonderful friends! It was such a pleasant surpise. They invited me to play raquetball with them, and I did. It was a good time, lotsa sweat, and lotsa laughs. We ate yummy spaghetti for dinner.
At nine, we went to Friday Night Fever on campus to view The Princess and The Frog for free (with popcorn!!) It was a good movie. When we got home, this most excellent and giant card was waiting by the door. It was from the friends that I had played raquetball with earlier. I had to put it up, because I think it is the biggest one I have ever received. They also had made some banana bread and given some white chocolate BLISS candies. Such sweet friends.

Between dinner and the movie, we went to the Mayo residence to eat some lemon poppyseed cake and vanilla ice cream. Steph was so kind to make my favorite cake! And it was so yummy. It was fun to try to light the candles with Porter trying to blow them out. I had three lit and he blew them out!

We soon got them all lit and then he helped again. He is so cute!

My birthday was a fabulous day. Heavenly Father blew all the clouds away, calmed the winds, and made the sun shine for the first time in a long time! He knows how I love to be warm!! I was so spoiled by well-wishers.
Birthdays are the best. Everyone should celebrate no matter how old they turn. You can't go backwards, so you might as well celebrate the forwards! I do have this issue with odd and even numbers. I like to be odd, and don't like turning even. But, I am trying to get over it. By the second half of the day, I was okay with being 22.
