Beautiful Baby, Beautiful House, Beautiful Life

Because it has been so long since I have blogged, this will be a truly long post. I shall attempt to recount some of the summer happenings in pictures.

This is a picture of a picture (thus the blurriness) of my sweet baby, just hanging out on the inside. I think she is the most beautiful baby I have ever beheld (no offense to my extra beautiful nieces and nephews). I especially love her pouty mouth in this picture and her tiny chin. This was taken in the beginning of June when we went in for the anatomical and found out she is a Lucy!

This picture was taken some time later, when we were camping with both sets of Laramie siblings. I am at 26 weeks in this picture, and we were on a hike to find some beast fish somewhere near the telephone lakes in the Snowy Range. Clark and Eric were wanting to try out some fly fishing. If I remember correctly, they were successful in catching some not-so-beastly fish.

This is a shot of the awesomely patriotic trailer we lived in this summer. I included one of its best features and one of its worst in this photo. Best: spacious redwood deck. Worst: blue exterior. Actually, the blue wouldn't have been so bad, but it was trimmed in bright red. I don't know what they were thinking.

This is Eric, walking in our yard to come and take the following picture of me....

....at about 28 weeks I think.

And this is me again, of course, at 32 1/2 weeks.

And in case you haven't had enough, this is at 33 weeks! Which was just a couple of days ago, so this brings us up to date. I took this when I got home from the Jon Schmidt concert on Wednesday. Mr. Schmidt came to do a concert in Prexy's pasture! It was awesome, and because it was a free concert, he was able to play my favorite song, "Love Story meets Viva la Vida." And he apparently loves it too. He announced near the beginning that just because he could, he was going to play it twice. And he did. He wore his red wig during "Dumb Song" and played "Waterfall" upon request and did his backflip at the end. It was a wonderful evening. Steph came and brought her kids, and we had a great time.

This brings us to the pictures of our new apartment! I love this apartment. This is our bedroom. It is wonderful and spacious. One of my favorite features: the closet, because it has enough room for our clothes, shoes and miscellaneous items, plus, it has doors that allow us to hide these items from the visitor's view. Never have we been so fortunate.

And this is our bed with the most beautiful quilt from my wonderful grandmother! One of my favorite features: the quilt. It makes the room even brighter and more cheerful! And the painting is especially nice as well. I know you can't tell, but the painting is in fact a picture of the Logan Temple that we were given for our wedding. The temple is very small in the middle, but it is lovely.

This is our wonderful bathroom. I pretty much love everything about the bathroom, but one extra-loved feature is the soap holder mounted on the shower wall. It has a ledge, so that the soap doesn't fall off when you set it down! I no longer have to bend over 7 times in the shower to pick it up!

This is our spare bedroom for all of our spare items. It is full of our unpacked boxes as you see. Most of it is camping stuff, some is extra blankets and pillows. And other boxes are full of things we would put in a garage if we had one.

And this is my favorite feature about the spare room: Lucy's clothes in the white drawers. The three drawers on the left are full of clothes, and the drawer on the right has headbands and socks and shoes in it. (I had fun getting her stuff out of bags and organizing it the other day). This may be a long last month and a half!

This is the view from the bathroom of our hallway. Favorite features: linen closet to the left (never had one before), and spacious coat closet to the right!

This is our living room as seen from the front door. Favorite feature: awesome windows. Unfortunate fact: we don't have a couch anymore, so those wooden chairs are the substitute.

Another view of our living room. Favorite features: artsy items--the orange flowers with the white rocks in the glass vases hanging in the black iron hanger thing sitting on the round end table in the bottom right corner of the photo (a product of a fun splurge at the dollar store), plus the conglomeration of stuff on the large black shelf.

And this is a closer view of the shelf. I am sure you all don't appreciate it as much as me, but I like it a lot.

This is the wall where the TV will go, once we get a couch. The flowers will be displaced, but will find a new home on the kitchen table that I can just feel we will be getting soon! The hall is to the right and the kitchen to the left. Favorite feature: Jesus.

This is the kitchen, equipped with yet another huge window! Favorite feature: huge window (OBVIOUSLY!) and a red kitchenaid and a red butterdish.

The wall in the kitchen where one day, we will have a table, and the front door.

And some more of the kitchen. Favorite feature: plentiful cupboard space and bananas. I love bananas.
So that concludes the tour of our new crib, yo! Things have been great since we moved in (and they were before that too). One of the things I am grateful for: potato spots on my glasses. I was finally able to peel potatoes again. Since we moved out of the trailer and spent some time in Lonetree and at Clark and Maria's, I haven't cooked a real meal. Last night, we had meatballs, potatoes and green beans. As a result, we were able to have a real breakfast of potatoes and eggs this morning! We appreciate a good hearty meal in this house!
One thing that may or may not be awkward at times: as you may have deduced from the pictures, we have yet to acquire any blinds for our spectacularly awesome windows. We were told they would be brought over when we first moved in, but no such luck yet. This helps me to try to be more modest in my lounging attire and more moderate in my actions. For example, there have been no crazy dance moves from my end for almost an entire week. I am very excited to get blinds. I hope they come soon.
(I am sorry if any of you are overwhelmed at my constant referral to the windows, but please understand that I have lived in many a basement since I came to Laramie 4 years ago, and this is such a fantastic change.)
