Eric made his first archery kill on September 22nd! It was very exciting for both of us, exhausting for him, and relieving for me. We hung the quarters in Clark's garage that night, then cut it up the next day with help from our loving Laramie siblings! We were so thankful for their assistance.
It has been getting cold the last couple of days, and I am not enjoying it much. I had just been thinking, earlier in the week, how blessed I have been with a good, long, warm summer. And, that I should be able to bear the cold better because of that good, long, warm summer. I am already seeing signs that this will not be the case. As soon as the temperature dropped (not even close to the normal lows), I was shivering until my face hurt. We still haven't turned the heat on in our apartment, but I am feeling very tempted. Here are the last pictures of our summer. We had a fun hike with Steph's family to the Glacier Lakes the week before Eric shot his elk. (The belly picture is at 35 weeks.)
And now, Eric has moved on to hunting deer! He has one more week to hunt until I force him to stay home with me. He and Ryan went backpacking on Sheep Mountain this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They didn't see many animals, but Ryan did get a deer.
And this next picture is of us on Conference weekend. We were lucky enough to be invited camping with my family, Grandparents Anderson, Clint, and Carla and Cara's families. It was so enjoyable and I love watching conference in the mountains. We had cozy sleeps by wood stoves and enjoyable walks and talks in the sun. This picture was at breakfast one day. We loved us some OJ (and plenty of other goodies) on this trip! Grandpa whipped up some ice cream and we had popcorn and marshmallows and delicious meals. Awfully enough, my next doctor visit told me that I gained 4 pounds that week! I don't think that's healthy for me or for Lucy. I am trying to do better now that I am home (eating slightly less sugar and moving more). In fact, I have taken up kickboxing and I rather enjoy it!
Now we have 1.5 weeks until the due date, and we are very anxious. I am so excited to be a mother. I wish she would hurry up and get here already!
