Big Pete

A few moons ago (in August) we bought a garage-mate for Petunia.* His name is Pete.** He is white, obviously male, and his hobbies include hauling stuff. In the past, that stuff has been camping and hunting supplies. In this picture, it is manure! (As an aside, we are so excited for the manure on our garden!) But, Pete is a good truck and we hope he will continue in his top condition for some time.

When we first drove these fine wheels home, he was pretty guarded. But, happily, after having Pete for several months, and giving him a roof over his cab and sweet talk in his vents, he finally came out of his shell! Lucy and I were both excited to see this. Lucy hopped right in and had a great time...with the duct tape! (Please excuse the streams of snot flanking her philtrum--it was a chilly morning.)

*Petunia is the Hyundai -- she is puny compared to Big Pete.

**Pete reminded me of a big white horse I used to ride at Spirit Lake. The name of the horse was Pete.

Thinking back, I cannot recall whether either of these names passed with the man of the house, but this is how they are in my head, and I told this story.
