An Easter Hunt

We were invited to a neighborhood egg hunt this week. We went with the intent of playing and visiting with friends. I didn't know whether Lucy would really enjoy hunting for eggs. I should have known better.

When we arrived we were assured that some had brought extras so Lucy could grab some if she wanted. I let her decide. When she saw other kids picking up the dozens of eggs scattered on the grass, she decided to go for it. And she grabbed all that she could carry in her tiny hands. It turns out that's four. I was impressed.

She looks angry because she is squinting into the sun. Wait a minute. I am mistaken. This is the attitude she assumed after I tried to help her carry her eggs. How dare I touch her treasures?!

She did not let them go for the first hour we were at the park, which made playing kind of impossible. But thanks to further observation of the kids milling around, she figured out there was candy inside. Once they were empty she let me hold them.

We left the park a chocolatey mess.
