Yesterday I realized that I hadn't sewn in a while and that I missed it. This morning I sewed up an apron for Lucy and I loved it. Such a contrast from the days when I would get frustrated just sewing blocks on a quilt top WAY back in the day! It could be that this was simpler. It's hard to say.
Bibs just haven't been doing their job around here. They keep a small portion of Lucy's front clean, but food gets everywhere with Lu. I have bid a bitter farewell to more than one pair of pants after tomato juice stains and such. With this apron, I am hoping those days are past.
I started with the scraps I had from making a baby blanket. Good thing my girlie is little.

I ended with this. I am worried that the skirt of the apron might be too narrow to accomplish the full lap coverage I was going for, but I hope it will work.

I put the apron on Lu for modeling pictures (as well as to see if it would fit). When I wouldn't let her grab the camera, she flopped on the floor and proceeded to whimper/cry for a while.

Then she recovered and wanted to sit on the sewing chair.

And since she asked nicely, I let her.

And then she used it for snack time. Not that we have ever had much staining trouble with graham crackers, but we had to try it out!
Wow, Impressive! Good job
ReplyDeleteMy friend introduced me to oxyclean, love it! It has saved more than one outfit around here. Just add a little scoop to a bucket of hot water and let it soak over night.
ReplyDeleteCute apron!
