Lucy's Latest

Lucy is growing right up.  Wow, I love her.  She has been doing cool and new and wonderful and exciting things recently.  I'll start with something cool.  She likes to take her animals and babies for rides on this riding toy:

Something new just happened yesterday.  She was having cheese for a snack and I left the room for a minute, leaving the block too close to her seat.  I realize that I am no longer the mom of a baby.  I'm glad the knife was out of reach:

Here is something wonderful .  Sometimes we go out on the grass and enjoy what is in the garden.  Lucy likes to feed me peas.  All I have to do is pick them, put them in a pile and sit back.  She is more than happy to shell them and stick them in one at a time.  I tried getting her to put them in my hand.  Apparently it's not an option:

Also, she will not eat them.  She always sticks one in her mouth, (today it was a whole handful) but never swallows.  This is how she spits them out--15 minutes later:

And here is something exciting.  She likes to walk on the curbing and I love to watch and see how long she will go.  When she jumps off onto the grass, she gasps and says, "Close!"  I am not so sure what she was close to, but it always makes me smile:

And one more thing that is cool, new, wonderful and exciting all at the same time is that Lucy is learning to use the toilet!  We are thrilled.  She has been at it for a week and she is doing really well.  What a fun, sweet,  talented and remarkable daughter we have!
